TAUPIRI RUGBY UNION

A meeting of the Management Committee was held on Monday evening, the chairman, Mr. F. Harris, presiding. It was decided to convey the Union’s thanks to the Rovers’ club ;for their sportsmanlike action in the seven-a-side tournament on Saturday last. This team kindly played short time in order to allow the tournament to be finished. Hearty congratulations were extended to the Renown Club on their fine victory in the seven-a-side tournament, the opinion being freely expressed that the standard of play was excellent. Messrs. W. Clout, L. Gordon and D. Smith were appointed senior representative selectors, and Messrs. A. Stocken, Rodgers and J. Tapp junior selectors. The following is the draw for club matches which will commence on 9th May. The matches will be played on the ground of the team whose name js mentioned first. The junior competition will be run in two sections. SENIORS. May 9—Taupiri v Waikare; Eastern v Renown. May 16—Taupiri v Renown; kare v Eastern. May 23—Eastern v Taupiri; Waikare v Renown. JUNIORS (Northern Section). May 9—Waerenga v Huntly; Rovers v Rangiriri; Renown a bye. May 16—Renown v Rangiriri; Waerenga v Rovers; Huntly a bye. May 23—Rangiriri v Huntly; Rovers v Renown; Waerenga a bye. May 30—Huntly v Renown; Ranging v Waerenga; Rovers a bye. June 6—Renown v Waerenga; Huntly v Rovers; Rangiriri a bye.
