Concert in aid of the Pipe Band.

A grand concert was given in the Miner’s Hall on Monday evening last, by the members of the Huntly Orchestral Minstrel Troupe, under the able conductorship of Mr H. Farrimond, the proceeds of which are to be given in aid of the Huntly Pipe Band. The Hall was well filled by an enthusiastic and appreciative audience and the concert can be pronounced an unqualified success.

Songs were rendered by Miss Stone ; and Messrs Stow, Wesley and Knapper, while Messrs Robson and Woods sang a duet. These items were all well received and met with well earned applause, while the recitation and step-dance by Mr Budge, were also much appreciated. Miss Nellie Finney, the young Scotch dancer, who danced the Sailor’s Hornpipe and the Sword Dance to the accompaniment of the bag-pipes ployed in a masterly manner by.Mr T. Ingram, received a great and well earned ovation.

Two selections well rendered by the Huntly Orchestra made up a programme which did credit to those who organised the concert and gave satisfactfaction to those who composed the audience. The takings were about £l3.
