Miss A. McCarthy who leaves to-mor-row to take up a position in Christchurch was met by the members of St. Paul’s Methodist choir and friends last evening at the residence of Air J. Lawrence, Hall Street. During the evening opportunity was taken by the Choirmaster, Air P. N. Goodfellow, to present AJiss McCarthy with a dressing case and regret was expressed at her impending departure.
The Alodorator of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand, Right Rev. J. Lawson arrived in Hokitika yesterday on a. moderutorial visit. He was entertained and welcomed at an informal gathering in St. Andrew’s Hall last evening. The Moderator, in a delightful address, well seasoned with humour, told of the world-wide extent and work of the Presbyterian C'hureh. Air Robinson left this morning for the Glaciers and is to conduct worship here on Sunday morning on his return.
