The “Telegraph’s” Barcelona correspondent says that rebel machine gunners, withholding fire till the last moment, scattered a loyalist cavalry attack between Teruel and Morelia! The Spanish press agency announces from Barcelona that loyalist divisions not onlj- stemmed the rebel offensive, but took the initiative in the Ebro, Segre and Pyrenees sectors, inflating heavy losses on Italians when the latter attempted to counter-attack. Moreover, the loyalist front remains intact between Teruel and Montalban, while the loss of Aliaga is denied. The Barcelona correspondent of the “Telegraph’’ corroborates, that the loyalists are withstanding the rebels on the Levante front.

He has therefore abandoned Barcelona as an objective, and is concentrating a drive on Valencia, via Castellon Delapana.
