HENRY FORD S ADVICE

WASHINGTON, April 27

On the eve of the conference between President Roosevelt and Mr' Henry Ford, a group of sixteen prominent business men, including Mr Owen D. Young, sent Mr Roosevelt a written pledge assuring ’ him of -their fullest- co-opera-tion in the Government’s efforts towards business recovery. The group represents more than 130 companies. Their action has increased the importance that observers are attaching t<? Mr Ford’s visit to White House.

The State Department has been informed from Point Barrow that Eskimos report seeing a Huge aeroplane sink in an icefield in the O'liktuk region in the middle of August. A. week later a white trader noticed oil on the water, indicating that the Soviet trans-polar fliers had perished.

[The Soviet aviator Lev armsvskv and his coinnanions left Moscow on a flight across the North Pole in August last year. They hoped to reach San Piego( and establish a long-distance record.j
