BOXING
MAR IST SCHOOL TOURNEY. Held under the auspices of the'Hokitika. Boxing Association; in 1 the Princess Tin at,ic last evening, the Alaiiot Brothers High School at Greymout 1 I contested the school house championships, about 30 bouts'being staged. J All the contests were cleanly'fought and a comparatively good attendance much apreciatcd the bouts, several of which aroused enthusiastic barracking. ' | Messrs N. Kiely and R. L’iko'n'acted as referees hhd 'Mr A. J. " Fraser filled the capacity of timekeeper. The f~l- , lowing houses participated in the contest:—Red, St. Patricks (Pt.); Gold fJt. Coluinbas (C.); Green, St. Pauls (PL); and white, St. Josephs (J.). I The tournament ended in. a win for I St. Josephs with 27 points, with St. i Patricks second with 23, St. Columbas j 12 and St. Pauls 18. In Greymouth, St. Paul’s won tho first night and St. Josephs the second. At the conclusion of the contests thanks for the invitation to stage a J tourney at Hokitika were extended to Fathers Finerty and O’Gormar: by tho Marist Brothers who also thanked tho Hokitika Boxing Association, for its assistance and for material supplied to those present for their splendid patronage and to Mr E.
