QUEENSTOWN, January 14

The Royal train completed its final jouiney for the Duke of Glourestpi’s tour, with its arrival at Kingston this morning from Invercargill. Throughout the trip the train's passage was cheered as each station was passed, . there being especially a large gathering ad young and old at Lumsden, where a service stop was made for water. His Highness left his carriage to giv° Digger and Skilly a brief walk, and remained at the door of the compartment when the train moved off, to rrekimweUlge the salutations and say good night to the people on the station. In dull, although not unpleasant weather, the steamer t r ip from bake Wakatipu to Queenstown was made. The water was rather choppy, but- the passage was excellent.

Replying His Highn e ss said he was .delighted with his visit to 'the UVir (famed beauties of Lake Wakatipu as well as to meet the people of the district. In 'the forenoon he left- by car fo v Pembroke en route to Mt Cook Hermitage where lie is due at 7 o clock to-night.

The Duke of Gloucester was greatly impressed with Queenstown guldens <and the Scott memorial —a tablet let into the side of natural rock bearing Scott’s last message in full.
