AUCKLAND, January 13
On Saturday, two further games in the section rounds of the rink 'championship were completed, totalling four out of eight to be staged in the championship. The greens, suffering from
the lack of rain 'through the continued dry spell, were hard in texture, fast in running, and even bumpy. In some instaces bowls wei'e ,seen to bnmp frequently, minimising to a degree the accuracy of welll-delivered woods. These conditions contrasted with sweet running usually experienced on Auckland greens.
| The champion rink—G. Dickson, E. Kedpath, F. H. Gibson, H. Wilson, of [Lin wood Club, Christchurch—-lost the last game of the d\v by the howling of St. John’s team, skipped by A. E. Stone. The score was: Stone 31, Wilson 23. This loss will not damage the hchlers’ chance of going forward into 1 the post section rounds, as six wins will be necessary to qualify for the major stage of the campetition. The following rinks have bad the maximum of four wins: Thomas (Waive' T.onfoi (Dbvonpoi’t), Tonkin (Carlton), Veil*, iOnehungn). Lett '(Pork, iWasterton), 'Robertson (Onehungia), Carswell (Auckland), Harrison (Auckland), Walker (Mount Albert), Dunst'n (Waihi), Buchan (Te Aroha), Little (Hamilton), and Mlisten (Carlton). r Whibley (Greymouth) has lost ab four games.
