Audrey George, 20 months, was hospitalled with severe body burns, sustained when she fell into a receptacle of boiling jam at her parents home at Mornington.

MAN’S DEATH

GISBORNE, January 12.

Percy Walter Taylor*- 58, of Puha, who was injured during harvesting operations last week by falling from a cartload of oaten sheaves, died at the. hospital on Saturday morning.

Little doubt remains that the man who was lost, at Lydll Bay yesterday was Albert John feidev, aged 50, storeman, of 28, Aro Street. The search for the body was continued until late last night and was resitnied again at daybreak, but a thorough 'inspection of the rocky coast on both'sides of the bay was without result. '

BODY RECOVERED

OTAKI, January 12

The body of Joseph Cartrner, drowned iirthe Otaki river on Tuesday, was located in a twenty feet hole. Repeated attempts so far have failed to recover the body. Further attempts are being made to-day.

MAN POISONED

DUNEDIN, January 13

As the .result of poisoning, through eating meat which had been pickled in a kerosene tin, Seaton Anthony Mills, aged 32, of Tehouka, dieci in Balclutha Hospital yesterday. The whole family was affected by eating the meat, and Mills’ sister, aged six, was; also removed to the hospital, but is not seriously ill.
