CIRCUS MONKEYS’ EVIDENCE
CALCUTTA, January 8
Two performing monkeys may be the chief witnesses ior the prosecution at the trial of two natives who are chargwitli having murdered a showman at Comilla, Bengal. The monkeys first brought the news of the murder to the showman’s wife, by gesticulating and acting to her how their master had been' killed. Afterwards, they led the police to a. spot where the body was found to have been buried.
While returning, the monkeys suddenly made a violent attack on two strangers, who were silting in an eating house. The police arrested the men, who proved to be notorious bandits. Their houses were searched and tho dead man’s clothing was discovered.
