INDO-JAPANESE CONVENTION

RUGBY, October 9.
A temporary extention of tile JndoJapanese Trade Convention, expiring on Tuesday, hag been effected by an exchange of notes between Sir J. Simon and the Japanese Ambassador at London. The arrangement provides the Convention shall remain in force for one month from October 10. Meantime the Customs duties on goods at present imported by either country from the other shall remain ht the present level. If an agreement affecting their commercial relations is not concluded by November 10, an arrangement on the lines proposed will be extended to a reasonable period on the terms to be arranged by a comparison between the representatives ot the Governments, who are now engaged in discussing a new commercial agreement.
