Sentences varying from twelve years’ to six years’ confinement in exile have been passed by a special tribunal atter a lengthy trial, upon a number of prominent Spanish generals, admirals, and ex-Ministers of King Alfonso’s Cabinet on the ground of high treason in connection with the dictatorship, of their conduct conducing to disasters in the Moroccan War.
CONVICT STRIKES GOVERNOR.
LONDON, December 3.
Protesting against his solitary confinment after a week’s escape from Dartmoor Prison, a convict, named Amey, demanded to see the Governor, Mr Pannall, whom he struck on the face, causing him to fall against a wall, thus necessitating medical treatment and sick leave.

Detectives boarded the liner Remuera at Tilbury and it is stated that they gathered important information ■respecting mail bags that are missing.
