At a conference all grades of the railwayment resolved determinedly to oppose the companies’ proposed ten per cent cuts, and also to prepare to take action against the proposed pooling scheme with its mass dismissals and compulsory tranfers in the lower grades. The Conference decided on creating strike committees comprising prominent militants.
