RAILWAY ASSOCIATION FINDING

WELLINGTON, November 4
The Railway Superannants" Association now meeting in Wellington, announces that after examining exhaustively the Government Super - annuation Funds Bill, 1932, it finds that 'the proposed; legislation is of such a drastic nature and so- unfair in incidence ■ that undue hardship would result were it to be given effect it. The Association points out that New Zealand is the only part of the British Empire 1 to even contemplate breaking .faith with its retired civil servants, and affirms that any savings that might be made by not honouring th,e contracts, would he of little consequence as compared with the world wide loss of prestige and credit that would result.
