BUSH FIRES. FURTHER OUTBREAKS. (Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, Jjanuary 23. Numerous bush fires are raging in many country districts of the State and much valuable property lias been destroyed. There were outbreaks near .Eden and Wagga. The State Statistician, Mr Waites, estimates that the 11)31-32 wheat harvest at mere than fifty-three million bushels. DECLARATION BY MR BAVIN. LANG’S HOLD, UNCERTAIN. MELBOURNE, January 23. Mr Bavin, on his arrival from Sydney, said that the results in New South Wales of the recent Federal Elections were satisfactory hut there was no possible hope of any real restoration of confidence, or any return to prosperity while Lang remained in office. Although he kept office by a servile majority, Lang now had a very uncertain hold on Iris office.
