(Australian Press Association.,) SYDNEY, December 6. The grade cricket yesterday was spoiled by rain and sodden wickets. Neale for Western Suburbs against Juniors took eight wickets for 18 runs; Guest for Waverley against Manly took four for 37.

Persistent heavy showers prevented play in the return cricket- match, South Africa v. New South Wales on Saturday.

This game was played on Gass Square on Saturday afternoon, under perfect weather conditions and was , witnessed by a large number of spectators. The visitors proved victorious by five wickets.

Hokitika batted first and were all out for 32. Baird run out 13 and Knowles 8 being the top scorers. Collett 2 for 11, Rose 3 for 10 and .Off 3 for 2 secured the wickets.

Greymouth then bailed and made 88 (Teague 20, Blair 14, Orr 0, Marshall 7, and Rose 6, being the lending scorers). Knowles 2 for 11, Parker 4 for ?0, Adfjmson 2 for IB . and Keller 1 for 0 secured the wickets, Hokitika in the seoond innings made 80 for 9 wickets and declared. Parker made 15, Keller 10, Johnson 12, Stapelton 6 and Conning 5 were the scorers. Collett secured 3 for 9, Orr 1 for 15, and Blair 2 for 2. Requiring 33 to win Grey knocked up 36 for the loss of 5 wickets. Collett made 17, and Matheson 11. Knowles took 1 for 6, Adamson 2 for 16 and Keller 1 for 12.
