MURDER CHARGE

CORONER’S VERDICT.

AUCKLAND, Juiv 17

The hearing of the charge of murder against Pahara Rameka Kere, alias George Rameka, aged 31, was continued at the Police Court to-dav.

Rameka is charged with the murder of Airs Gwendoline Johnson, aged 39 years, at her home on June 24, and with attempting to murder Queenie Rose Lawrence, aged 17. The Magistrate, as Coroner, said that he had heard sufficient/ evidence to conclude the inquest into the death of Airs Johnson.

The Coronial finding was: That. Gwendoline Alice Johnson died on June 24, and that the casue of her death was haemorrhage of the lungs, following on a penetrating wound in the right lung, caused by George Rameka stabbing her.

After further evidence the Police Court proceedings were adjourned tiill Monday.
