APPEAL COURT

ONE SENTENCE RED COED. WELLINGTON, March 20 Leave to appeal against the sentence of five years’ imprisonment. with hard labour, imposed upon him by the Supreme Court at Auckland, last November 3, was granted William Wilkinson by the Court of Appeal to-dav. Similar leave was granted to Theodore Vincent Casey, who was sentenced in October last by the Supreme Court at Auckland, to twelve months’ imprisonment with hard labour on each of four charges, the sentences to b« cumulative.

Leave was also given to Leslie Jude Taylor, who. on February 13 of this year, was sentenced at Wellington to four years’ imprisonment with hard labour, and on the Solicitor-General staling that he had no wish to appear as the hearing of this appeal, the Court reduced the sentence to three years’ reformative detention.
