CHILD ELECTROCUTED

DANGER FROM RANGES,

1 13 y Telegraph—Per Press Association.)

. MASTER,TON, Aug. 24

John Maxwell Mori son, a little boy of four, was electrocuted this morning in the home of his parents at Monson's Bush. From the evidence, it appeared that the child turned on an electric switch while holding the wires of the oven-heating element of an electric range.

The Coroner, Mr J. Miller, S.M., added to his verdict that the child had met his death through shock from an electric range; that there was not sufficient warning to users that in certain circumstances the handling of a range might be fatal. The sellers of such ranges should take steps to warn purchasers. The Coroner also recommended that the Public Works Department frame regulations requiring the protective plate over the range elements to be screwed so that young children could not lift it.
