BY FLOOD AND CYCLONE.

At .least fifty people have been ' drowned as the result of a sudden flood at Skopje, in Jugc-Slavia.
! A cyclone whirled through the town at midnight, uprooting the trees and throwing them across the roads.
Then there followed a cloudburst, sweeping over the mountains. that surrounded the town. A deluge poured down through every valley towards the town. The panic-stricken people dashed hither and thither in their frantic attempts to escape.
The Mohammedan quarter of the town was wiped out in a few moments. '
The cafes and houses collapsed and the electricity gave out. The resultant darkness increased the horror of the visitation.
j Eight hundred buildings were destroyed, and there are seven hundred families left homeless. ;
