BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYBIGHT MELBOURNE, Aug. 25. In the Senate, "Mr Duncan complained of the excessive cable rates'eo •England, saying " they should be reduced from 3s to 2s 6d. The Government's land charges were a monstrous imposition, .being 6d per word, or five times that of the New Zealand rate. The rate could be reduced to lOd per word. Mr Pearce has decided to bring the matter under the notice of the Postmaster-General.
