ZEPHYR LODGE CONCERT. The children's concert arranged by Miss Hooper was held on Thursday evening in the Athenaeum Hall. There was a, spl-ndid attendance, £4 12s iOd bemg collected, which will' be given to the poor of London. The various iW were well rendered by the school childtt™* t gl'^ t praise is due to Miss Hooper for the manner in which they were trained. The play "King Alfred and the Cakes" was very well acted, and the sammer Sower song, in which the girls represented different flowers and the boys bees was very prettily ren_ dered. Miss Lording presided at the piano and greatly assisted to the success or the evening. The programme was as follows: Recitation, My Shadow, Joan Smalley and Pegp Leeper; song, Wray Carter; recitation, Some lime Ago, by the little ones; song The Cuckoo; recitation, 5™ S £P. the Stocking, Wray Carter song, Fairy Snow Drops; recitation Nancys Nightmare; pianoforte solo Geraldme Syine; action song, Be Very Still; musical drill, five girls; charac-!^-f S° + "g:%i?ggif?f a Sum ™r Garden; The Remorseful Cakes Gerl aldme Syme; song, Fathqr Sun; recita tion, Which Loved the Best; son£ Away from the Mountain; recitation fhe Tempest; action song, The Sailor Boy: recitation Suppose; song, Tall and Ripe; song.
