MORRIS TUBE CLUB.
There was a fair attendance at the meeting on Saturday evening. Mr J. Holmes was in the chair, and briefly explained the object of the meeting— namely, to try and revive interest in rifle shooting. On the motion, of Messrs J. S. Riddle and Garden, it was decided to revive the old Morris Tube Club.
The following, officers were appointed: President, Mr R. J. Linn; vicepresidents, Messrs J. Forbes, G. Presion, S. Moore. S. O. Johns, W. J Laurent, H. H. Baber, and A. Cocker; captain, A. McAsey; vice-captain, J. Holmes; committee, Messrs C. Paine, Anensen, J. S. Eiddle, F. Riddle, R. Garden, W. Pollock, S. Richards: handicapper, F. Riddle; secretary and treasurer, P. Linn. On the motion, of Messrs J. Riddle and Garden, it was decided that the annual subscription be ss, and that senior cadets be admitted for 2s 6d. Mr Holmes was- deputed to arrange for a of ammunition, and a meeting will- be held on Wednesday, ' June 2, to arrange dates for shooting, etc., when it is hoped that all in- ; terested will attend, as it is the intention to form a company of the National I Reserve at Noimanby. A little drill would do no man any harm, and should by any chance the German fleet escape the vigilance of Admiral Jellicoe in the North Saa, and again roam the ocean, and some part of it should find its way to the Dominion, then the National Reserve would be called on to assist in defending our hearths and homes. All able-bodied men can join, so all are invited to prepare to do their duty to King and country. | BELGIAN RELIEF FUND. secretary (Miss Olive Rowe** of the late Belgian ball has handed Wthe treasurer the handsome sum of £18 4s 3d being the net proceeds of the ball and £5 given by Mr W. Rowe. IN AID OF THE WOUNDED. Residents of Normanibv and district are reminded of the grand concert by th» Hawera Patriots to be held- tonight (Tuesday) in the Town Hall when a first-class programme will be submitted; and as the proceeds are in aid of the New Zealand Hospital Ship, Lls ho£?- there will he a "crowded house. The concert will be followed by a dance when first-rate music will be played by the orchestra.
