POLITICAL.
Mr D, L. A/ Astbury, candidate for the Egmont seat in the Liberal interests, addressed the .electors in the Town Hall on Wednesday evening. Mr J. J. Meldon occupied the chair, and the attendance was probably the largest that has ever been seen at the Town Hall. The candidate was given an excellent hearing. A hearety vote of thanks was accorded to Mr Astbury, and hope- was expressed that the Liberal party would be returned to power, there being only one dissentient.
