EARLIER CLOSING OF LIQUOR BARS.

OTTAWA, Dec. 2

The Prime Minister of Manitoba announces that bars wjll be closed earlier throughout Manitoba if the Legislature, which is shortly meeting, authorises the Government accordingly. The Ministry seeks special powers to curtail the numbers of licenses, to close the bars at 7 p.m., and other drastic powers exercisable during the war. The Premier bases his action on the temptation offered to recruits if the bars are open till 11 p.m. as at present.
