ST. PAUL'S ANNUAL MEETING.
The annual meeting of parishioners ■was held on "Wednesday, and owing to tk every bad night was poorly attended. "The vicar (the Yen. Archdeacon Cassell) occupied the chair, and in his address said it was pleasing to have to report a more satisfactory state of affairs than for many years past; the attendance showed a considerable increase, as also did the offertories. Then the Sunday School was doing good work, and h& certainly thought that they had every reason to be satisfied with the year's results. The balance-sheet showed receipts from all sources to be £48 Os 4d, and after paying all charges there was a credit balance of £15 18s Bd. On the motion of Messrs J .S. Riddle and Paine, the balance-sheet was adopted. On the motion of Messrs J. S. Riddle Anstis it was decided to increase the assessment to Hawera to £25 per annum. Mr J. S. Riddle was again appointed ■vicar's warden, Mr S. Anstis the people's warden; and Messrs T. Free, A. Crocker, C. Paine, H. McKoy, A. Anensen, F. Meredith and H. Allen, vestrymen. Votes of thanks were passed to Mr Anensen for repairs to culvert, and to the organist, Sunday School teachers, auditors, lay readers, and all who had assisted in any w Tay. Mr J. Turton was again appointed auditor. It was decided to hold the annual social in August, and a meeting of ladies is to be called to make arrangements.
