New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report: — On Thursday at Westfield we held our weekly sale of dairy and store cattle. Dairy cows close to profit sold at from £5 10s to £7 17s 6d; heifers £4 to £6 10s, other sorts £3 to £4 ss, empty cows £2 2s to £3, yearling heifers £1 10s to £1 18s, calves 8s to £1 Ts.
At WestfLeld on Wednesday we had ah average yarding of fat cattle. Prices were a shade lower than the previous week.' Steers sold at from £6 to £9 7s dd, cows and heifers £4 5s io £7 2s <*a. Ox beef sold up to 21s per 1001b, and cow to 19s. Calves, in short supply, sold at 3s to 355. Sheep were yarded in fair numbers and sold at late rates. Best wethers sold at from 14s 6d to 17s 3d, other sorts 12s 9d to 14s, ewes 10s 6d to 14s 9d, lambs (well fatted) 10s to 13s 9d, others 5s to 9s. Pigs: Porkers 15s to £1 10s, baconers £1 10s to £2 13s, weaners 5s to 10s.
