BURNSIDE.
DUNEDIN, April 6. At Burnside stock market 157 head of fat cattle were yarded, mostly lightweights of fair to medium quality. Competition was spirited, and last week's prices were maintained. Best bullocks £9 5s to £10 7s 6d, good £8 5s to £9, medium £7 10s to £8, light £6 to £7, best heifers and cows £6 15s to £8, medium £5 10s to £6 ss, light and inferior £3, 15s io £4 10s. Fat sheep: 3235 penned., Prime heavy wethers sold at prices about equal to last week's , rates, while medium wethers and ewes were 6d to Is per head lower. Best wethers 15s 6d to 18s 6d, a few extra to 23s 6d, medium 12s to 14s, best ewes lls 6d to 14s, a few extra heavy to 28s, medium ewes 9s to lls, inferior 6s to Bs. Lambs: 2783 penned. Prices were much on a par with those ruling last week. Best 14s to 15s 6d, a few small pens extra 16s to 17s 6d, good 12s to 13s, medium 10s to lls.
Pigs: 150 penned. Prices for small pigs were slightly easier, while porkers and baconers realised about the same as last week. Suckers 5s 6d to Bs, slips 10s to 14s, stores 16s to 22s 6d, porkers 32s to 365, light baconers 38s to 40sj heavy do 44s to 535., choppers to 61s.
