KAPUNI.

Mr and Mrs W. Stoddart, formerly of Kapuni, liavc been on a visit Io this district for n few days, returning to WanKanui last Tuesday. I understand Mr Stnddart has purchased ;i fine farm of 900 acres at Wcstmere, in the Wanganui district.
We aro ehoTtly to haw a race mooting, at Kapuni, on Mr A. Davidson's racocmivst', tlie eoimnittcc are evidently sparing no pains to make tlie affair a success us they are giving very fair stakes for a maiden meeting. Tlio club arc also forming a, working bee to get the old course in good oTder. Mr Percy Knight, who has bought. Mr Mudford's property on the Sheet road, taken possession in a few days. The. weather has been- fine for the last few days, but. very cold. The lael rain has left- tlio roads very soft and muddy, especially the bad .portion of Maiuia rond, which is almost- unsafe after dark.
