Waddy played a dashing and brilliant innings for 85 (not out), Duff 61. S. Gregory 46, Hopkins 32, Kelly 34, Howell (not out) 59. MELBOURNE, December 18. Queensland, playing against Victoria, made 280 runs in their first innings. The home team in their first innings lost four wickets for 481 — Armstrong 200, Ramsford (not out) 103, Layer 98.
