CANADIAN MANUFACTURERS' RECOMMENDATIONS.

The Canadian Manufacturers' Associations' Convention recommended tariff revision, and higher duties for the protection of industries. Special reference was made to the condition of the woollen trade in view of British competition, which was described as ousting Canadian manufacturers. Reciprocity with the cn:tc States was condemned, as it affected Canadian manufacturers. The Convention unanimously favored an Imperial Commission to consider the question of preference with the Empire.
