NOLAN, TONKS AND GO'S STOCK REPORT
Hawsba, July 21. At Optuuke on 18th inst. we had a good entry of oattle, and spirited bidding throughout; with one exception all lines being disposed of. At Manaia on 19th inßt. the quantity of stock advertised came forward. Owing to the extremely boisterous day buryers * ere slack, yet a fair quantity ohanged hands. We held a clearing sale of dairy stock on 20th inst. for J. Heslop, Esq. As tbe herd was well-known dairymen were wel! represented, consequently there was keenj bidding, and good prices were obtained. 160 cows realised the satisfactory price of L 5 Is per head ; 50 half-bred Holstein heifers. L 2 12s to 86s; half-bred Holstein yearling heifers, 81s to 335. Highoßt price obtained for single cow £11 2s 6d. We quote at Opunake : Mixed yearlings, 28s 6d to 325 ; 18 monthß to 2 year heifers, 88s to 42i 6d ; springing heifers, L32s to L 3 12s 6d; 2 to 2| year steers, L 3 7s weaners, 15s to 245; forward condition oowß, L 2 7s to L2 los ; dairy cows, L 8 10s toL4 6s. At Manaia : springers, LBto L 3 ss ; 2to 2$ year steers, L 2 15s; 2 year steers, L 2 8s to L 2 12s 6d; store cows (old), 255 ; fat oows, L 3 to L 3 17s 6d.
