STRATFORD I. v. CLIFTON I.

Straftord won by three points to nil. STRATFORD 11. v. STAR 11. Victory for the Stars by 20 points to nil. | RIVAL I. v. ELTHAM I. Rivals scored their rirst win yesterday, when they defeated Eltham by six pom s to three. During the first spell Eltham had slightly the advantage and from a loose rush Brown got over the line. Kick at goal was a failure. Rivals woke up in the second spell and had Eltham line in danger repeatedly. T. Coffi y intercepted a pass, ran up the field, passed to A. Coffey and he to P. Keith, who, after a good dodgy run, scored near the corner. No goal resulted. Soon after M. Coffey by good following up scored Rival's second try. Then Eltham rushed the ball down the field, smothered the fullback and should have scored easily, but fumbled the ball and lost their chance. No further score was made. Soth teams, especially Eltham, were weak, owing, no doubt, to the match being played on Thursday. The play, with the exception of Keith's try, was not up to thi standard of senior football.
