LONDON, May 10. I The reward of £10,000 offered by the Government for information leading to the capture and conviction of the murderers of Lord Cavendish and Mr. -Burke has been increased to J12.500, no reliable clue having yet been obtained as to the identity of the murderers. The trial of eight persons accused of having contributed to the negligence of the terrible catastrophe at the Ring Theatre is proceeding at Vienna. '-^he case against the ex- Mayor of the city Sis been heard, and after a lengthened investigation, the jury returned a verdict of acquittal. Another cyclone has passed over the United States, which was more destructive in effect than those which have recently visited the country. A large amount of property was destroyed, and twenty persons are reported as killed. The death is announced of Dr. John Brown, the well-known essayist and writer, aged 72. The insurrection which broke out a month ago in the Republic of Hayti, and the object of which w is to overthrow the government of General Solomon, has at last beon subdued. A number of lives were lost before order was thoroughly restored. Thero have been severe storms at the Hebrides, on the west coast of Scotland. At Stornway Island, off Lewis, a number of vessels wore wrecked. Riots have occurred atCurragh, County of Kildare, between English and Irish residents. The disturbances were of a serious nature, and were with difficulty quelled. A Turkish transport, which was engaged conveying troops, went aground in the Bosphorus. Forty men were drowned. It is announced that the price of the Times newspaper, which has hitherto been published at threepence, will shortly be reduced to a penny.
