[per reuteu's agency. J LONDON, May 22. In the cricket nmtch Australians v. Orleans Club, at Twickenham, Palmer bowled splendidly, taking six wickets for 99 runs. In the first innings tho Australians had lost at the close of the days' play 6 wickets for 53 runs. Murdoch was caught for 32, and Giffen, not out, 23. May 23. The Australians were all disposed of for a total of 75 runs. Giffeu was stumped for 24, and McDonnell caught for 25. The bowling of the Englishmen were dead on the wicket. The Australians followed on their second innings, and when the stumps were drawn tor the day, they had put together 240 runs for nine wickets. Murdock was not out for 107, having played a splendid innings and only gave one chance. McDonnell was bowled for 28, and Jones for 28. The match was drawn in favor of tho Englishmen. In the House of Commons on Thursday, the Right Hon. Sir William Harcourt introduced a Bill for the repression of crime in Ireland. The measure provides, where the ordinary laws are powerless, that a commission of three judges shall try charges of treason, felony, murder, attacks upon houses, &c, without a jury. Property in inculpated districts is to be levied upon for the cost of such trials. The Act is to operate for period of three years. The severity of. its provisions is \xnequalled. The Tories approve of it. The Leaguers, both moderate and extreme, aio astounded, and denounce the Bill. Provision is made for an appeal against the judges' decisions. The Aliens Act are to be revised. Newspapers inciting to acts of violeuce are to be sunimarily supprp 1, and compensation is to be ex\iie i places of murder, mutilation, or damage to proporty.
