MR. FREEMAN R. JACKSON'S FORTNIGHTLY REPORT.

Wanoanui, March 23. At the Waverley yards on Friday last, there was a fair supply of stock, and the bidding was dull, prices receding somewhat. A number of pens were passed in tit the auction, but were placed afterwards at a reduction. Sheep sold well. At the St. Hill street yards to-day, about the usual supply came forward. Beef made 16s. to 17e. 6d. the lOOlbs., and store cattle sold at Waverley prices. Sheep were in fair supply, prices ruling about Is. per head all round under last soles' rates. Cattle. —At Waverley, 243 head were yarded— -Fat cows, JBS 10s ; steers, £4> 6s ; old cows, £3 7s 6d; yearlings, £2 ss; calves, jBI 15b to £2. At the yards to-day, 105 head came forward — Fat bullocks, £7 6s ; cows, £A 10s to £5 17s 6d ; cows and calveß, £4 10s to £4 17s 6d ; superior heifers, JB4 10s ; steers and heifers, two-year-old, £3 7s 6d. Sheep.— At Waverley, 858 were penned. Mixed ewes and wethers, 8s 3d ; wethers, 8s 3d ; lambs, 5s 9d. At the yards to-day, 1424 were sold— Best pen of very heavy superior wethers, lls; lighter weight, 9s ; eweß and wethers, 8s to 8s 3d ; ewes, 5s to 6s 3d ; old ewos,-3s 9d. Pigs.— A large number came forward. Large pigs, 40s ; porkers, 13s to 18s. Hones. — Dull of sale, and at low rates. Exports.— so 3 sheep, 239 pigs, 62 horses.
