THE MELBOURNE EXHIBITION.

Melbourne, Tuesday. H.M.S. Emerald, Wolverine, Cormorant, and Nautilus have arrived here. The New Zealand exhibits at the Exhibition are well advanced. Dr. Hector, the Commissioner, has already prepared a Handbook for distribution regarding the products, progress, and statistics of the colony. The British exhibitors advertise a picnic which they intend holding in conseqnence of the discourtesy which they allege is shown by the Melbourne Commission, in omitting to .send them cards of invitation to the opening ceremony,- ' '

Mata is being strongly backed for the Melbourne Cup, in consequence of Camballo's victory at the farewell race meeting got up in honor of Sir Hercules Robinson.
