The Nottingham Eleven beat the Australians by one wicket. There was great excitement over the finish of the game. In the first innings of the Notts, Boyle and Palmer, for the Australians, bowled splendidly, each taking five wickets. At the match, Australians versus the Players-tof England, the tetter. concluded their first innings for 90. The Australians then went in, and scored 71 for three wickets. The bowling of the Australians was very fine, although Spofforth was again absent. The following are the names of the English players : — Barlow, Bates, Barnes, Emmett, Jupp, Lockwood, Myeroft, Morley» Pilling, Selby, and Shaw. The Australian cricketers will be entertained by the Lord Mayor of London at a banquet on the Bth October.
