Wellington, Friday night.
Official notification that the first block of land on the Waimate Plains will be open for sale on the 25th proximo has been gazetted. The price is i>4 per acre for cash, and £5 for deferred payment. In the latter case, ss. per acre will have to be deposited on application, and each applicant will only be allowed to apply for one" deferred payment section. The hind to be sold for cash will be offered at public auction on the 29th October, at Hawera, The deferred paymena sections will be open for application on the '25th October, at the Land Office, Carlyle. Sections applied for by more than one person will be submitted to auction between- the applicants only, at Hawera, on the 28th October. The block now offered comprises 7500 acres on the west bank of the Waingongoro river, having a frontage of nearly three miles to the sea.
