Auckland, Tuesday night. The San Francisco mail arrived at Auckland at 10 o'clock this morning. The Southern mails left this afternoon. New Plymouth, Tuesday night. The Maori whare, at Bell Block, occupied by an old man and woman, was destroyed by fire last night. The old man was severely burnt before being rescued, and is not expected to live. Wellington, Tuesday night. On Saturday afternoon 25 additional hands were engaged by the Government lor employment on the Carlyle section ot railway.

Bluff, Tuesday night. The Annie Hill has arrived from Greymouth. During the passage, Captain McKay was washed overboard and drowned.
