New School Building

The erection of a new six-roomeu school on the site of the old Taita School is nearly completed, and it will be ready for occupation as soon as work on the school grounds is completed. At a meeting of the Taita Community Centre Committee it was resolved that several members elected from the meeting should confer with the Taita Residents’ Association committee on the possibility of that committee taking over the functions of the proposed community centre association.

At. the 37th annual championships of the New Zealand Piping and Dancing Association’s Otago Centre, held at Dunedin, Mr. P. D. Turner, of Pe.to4e.~won the C Grade marches section. There were sixteen entries.
