Taita Women’s Guild

TALK ON PALESTINE A recent meeting of the Taita Co-operative Women’s Guild was well attended. The chairwoman, Mrs. V. E. Ellis, reported that a further food parcel for Britain would soon be sent and hoped that the Guild could continue to send these regularly. The members present voted £2 as a donation to the United Nations Children's Appeal. The monthly competition, one-egg chocolate cake and novelty apron, was won by Mrs. Thwaites and Mrs. Allen.

The guest speaker for the evening svas Mr. J. Churton, secretary of the Federation of Co-operatives, who gave a very interesting talk on his experiences and observations while on a community farm in Palestine.
