LEAVING FOR ENGLAND
LOWER HITT MUSICIAN
Miss Beattice Taylor, Lower Hint’s popular musician, will sail for England by the liner Rangitata at the end of July to take up a scholarship at the Royal College of Music. London.
Miss Taylor was* awarded a violin scholarship by the Royal Academy in 15M5. and was also recommended for a Trinity College scholarship in singing. She gained the L.R.A.M.
for piano last year, and is a Licentiate of Trinity Cbliege. During the war Miss Taylor was a prominent member of tlu* 2YA camp concert party and Mrs. Noel Taylor’s Merry Minstrels, and has done much work over the air. She appeared with success with the \V.*l- - Operatic Society as Fill it. "The Belle of New York” and as the lead in "Firelly.” Next month she will be soloist with the Nelson Male Choir. Miss Taylor will give a recital before leaving for England. A strong committee has been formed to ensure its success.
