EXPLOSION AT NEWS OFFICE THREE BOYS ADMIT OFFENCE Machinists employed at the Hutt News oHice had a startling experience- on Tuesday night of last week. They were busily employed in attending to the printing of the newspaper when suddenly there was a loud explosion and the room filled with smoke. It was later discovered that a small home-made bomb had exploded. Pieces of a bottle which bad contained explosive and a fuse were found in the machine room. ■ Three boys of secondary school age had been noticed outside the office lust before the explosion, and as a result of investigations these boys admitted the offence, stating that they had placed the bomb on the step of the machine room door. Their act was just a prank and they had no malicious intent and did hot realise the possible serious consequences.
