BREACH OF REGULATIONS
FINES OP £lO IMPOSED Charges under the Supply Control Emergency' Regulations were heard in the Magistrate's Court at Lower Hutt, before Mr. H. G. Thompson, S.M., last week. David Daily, Ltd., a building firm, was charged that, having been notified by the Building Controller that construction of concrete paths at a church in Knights Road should be stopped, he proceeded with the work in contravention of the order. , For the defendant, Mr. E. F. Roth well stated that when notice to cease work was given there remained only two days' work to be done of a 12 months' job. The firm had no knowledge of any cement shortage and the cement used was only surplus from another job. «*»s A fine of £lO, with costs :=JIO/-, was imposed. • 0 •.-*. Alan Cyrus Brockelsby, for having used copper sheets for the alteration of a dwelling-house, in contravention of the Building Controller's order, was also fined £lO, with costs io/-. n
