FREE KINDERGARTEN
EXHIBITION NEXT SATURDAY A special effort will be made on Saturday afternoon at the novel exhibition to be held in the beautiful grounds of Griffin and Son's model factory, Wainui Road, to raise funds to enable the valuable work being carried on by the Woburn Building Committee of the Lower Hutt Free Kindergarten Association to meet the many claims made upon it through the rapid growth of the population in the district.. At present the Wo,burn Kindergarten is carried on under adverse conditions in a room not wholly suitable for the purpose and it is the aim of the local committee to raise £3,000 which will carry a Government pound for pound subsidy, to build a model free kindergarten to cater for the growing denuinds of the district.
The Garden Fete ' and Exhibition on Saturday afternoon will be one of the most novel ever .held in this district, for there will be an interesting collection of war trophies, etc., on view, in addition to many other attractions. The official opening will be at 2.30.
