LOWER HUTT CLUB Club activities will cease until Monday, January 7 th. The usual programme of handicap events will be held on January .7, 14, and 21. On Monday, January 28, the -Wellington Club will be the guests of the Lower Hutt Club for a friendly • contest. Athletes will be well catered for over the holiday period. There is i a meeting at Upper Hutt and one at ' Mangatainoka on Boxing Day. Para- ! paraumu will be the Mecca for the i majority of Wellington athletes on 1 New Year's Day. For those travelling further afield ' there are meetings at Nelson and - Wanganui on Saturday, December i 29. 1 . Joan McGill added another win J to her tally at Wakefield Park re- 1 cently. She came through from the back mark in the 120 yards handi- < cap to beat her club mate, Lola Mc- 1 Dougall, ih the last few yards. Lola « making her first appearance at < Wakefield Park this season, won the « 75 yards handicap. 1 The membership of the Lower < Hutt Club is steadily increasing'and i in. the near future it may be neces- t sary to run some of the club events in heatH. c
