SERVICE CLUB
The Lower Hutt Services Club was again active during the weekend in providing entertainment for the men of the Forces. On Saturday the hostesses were the women of the Red Cross Transport Division under the direction of Mrs. Ashley Duncan, who supplied a most attract ive meal, comprising many American delicacies. Favourable comment was made by the guests on the smart appearance of the young hostesses dressed in their smart blue uniforms • On Sunday afternoon the junior hostesses entertained their visitors with afternoon tea and games and in the evening a most enjoyable variety programme was provided by the Maori Concert Party led" by Mrs. Love. Other entertainers were Charlie Dixon and Sam with banjo and Bob with steel guitar. Bob and Mick provided tenor solos. Mr. Mann was at the piano. Messrs Munday and Horn are again thanked for their donations of meat and milk. The thanks of the Club are extend ed to Mrs. Collins for the gift of a I chair.
