Combined Doubles.—Smith and Y. Hunter beat McCardle and Miss J. Hunter, 21—13. ' ;/• ' Handicap Events .Men's Singles.—K. Chisholm beat beat J. Lamason. "Vv H Ladies' Singles.—Misfe J. Betf&ri beat Mlsb E. Miller. Men's Doubles.—MacDonald and O'Shaughnessy beat Densem and RoundhiU. Ladies' Doubles.—Miss Gayford and Mrp, Whitney beat Misses Gold and Munt. CQmblned Doubles. — O'Shaughqtesyand Mlsb Beban beat McCoriaack and Miss Green. E. Densem, winner'of the men's open "«liigles, waß runner-up for the same event last year. He turned the tables by beating laßt year's ■winner, A. McCardle, in the' semifinal. Miss E. Miller's victory in the ladies' open singles was a well" deserved win, as she had to meet, and beat, laßt year's winner of even, Miss J. Beban, *in the first
round. Incidentally, f thei handicappers' difficulties are illustrated., by the fact that Miss although giving away points, beat Miss E. Miller in the final of the ladles' dicap singles.
The standard of play throughout was well up to that of last year, despite the fact that the best players of some of the clubs are serving with the forces. '«
