The letter stated that everything possible was being dope by the local board to ensure that an adequate i supply of electricity would be avail' able during the -coming year. It was pointed out, however, that the ofigin of supply and the means of increasing it were largely In the hands of the Government, and this was a matter over which the board had no control. After a full discussion, it was decided to write to the Chief Electricity Controller asking whether the decision ' of the State Housing Department to install electric equipment in newly-erected houses was being done with a full knowledge of the source of supply position, and whether alternative methods of heating, particularly gas, would not be more deßirable under the circumstances.
